Care/Giver: In Memory’s Hold

We invited 30 visual artists and writers to explore the relationship between themselves and a caregiver. Parents, lovers, animals, neighbors, friends, mentors, teachers and others can all give/take care, and touch us at the core.

Writing nurtures art; art nurtures writing. Visual artists were invited to write or be interviewed about their subject, and literary writers reflected on a photo of their chosen caregiver, in poetry or prose. Click to enlarge. (November, 2016)

For each show, Prizer invites the public to make work in our Creativity Room that responds to the themes of the exhibit. Visitors of all ages make visual and literary artwork, and hang them on the walls.
